Battlefield 5’s Firestorm is going to impress us…maybe
It has only been 4 months since Battlefield 5 released it’s less than half content-rich game. Through some sources, the trailer for the Battle Royale Mode Firestorm was leaked so you can see a little more than was shown in the previous trailer. Battlefield 5 Firestorm was DICE’s way off countering the ever so popular Fortnite. However, With the next big participate in the Battle Royale scene Apex Legends overshadowing even Fortnite. It is very doubtful that Battlefield 5 Firestorm will make any sort of significant splash in the waters of the Battle Royale genre.
In the trailer, it showcases some of the standard battle royale mechanics such as jumping in from a plane, acquiring weapons, and fighting in a solo, duo or squad team in a shrinking map to prove you’re the best. The “ring” in Firestorm is actually aesthetically pleasing, it is a ring of fire that literally destroys anything it touches. Whether you can run into it or not was shown in the trailer but I am certain you can while accumulating damage over time.
What is unique about firestorm?
From the trailer, it was revealed that you can encounter safes and objectives that give you access to rare loot and vehicles. There is also a pretty nice achievement tracking system just like the mainstream Battlefield 5 modes. Overall, Battlefield 5 does give some charm in its own right to the Battle Royale genre. But, is it enough to bring back Battlefield players from the disappointment they faced at launch? What do you think?
